freenom still works in 2020 for registering free domains, but unfortunately, most free web hosting companies don’t allow these top-level domains (tk,ml,cf,fq,ga). The reason is simple, we are either use them for spam or testing. You can integrate free domains from freedom on blogger.com, or maybe some free hosts still accept them. I don’t know ;p
I have tried registering a domain for a year now with freenom and their site doesn’t save it when completing the process. I have tried contacting them on every platform I could find but I just get ignored. This company is a laugh a minute and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone
It does show an error sometimes after confirming the domain. But if you log in to your account and go to “My domains” page. The registered domain even after getting an error would be listed there.
